Why professional installation?

A robot mower is only as good as the setup behind it.

Choosing the mower is one part of the job. On a more complicated property, where the charging station sits, how the machine reaches each lawn, where it should never enter and how reliable its positioning will be can matter just as much.

Multiple lawns
Narrow passages
Paths between areas
Trees & buildings
Slopes & difficult terrain
Complex boundaries
Wire-free doesn’t mean installation-free. Modern GPS, RTK, EPOS and vision systems remove much of the physical boundary wire, but a good installation still needs planning, mapping, testing and correct setup.

Different gardens need different solutions

Wireless or boundary wire — we install both.

We don’t assume the newest technology is automatically the right answer. We look at the property first and recommend the installation method that makes sense.

Virtual boundary

Wireless installation

Suitable machines use satellite positioning, connectivity and/or cameras to create virtual mowing areas rather than a buried perimeter wire.

  • Virtual lawn boundaries
  • Stay-out zones mapped in the system
  • Transport paths between suitable areas
  • Boundary changes can be easier later
  • Coverage and sky visibility still need checking
Physical boundary

Wired installation

A traditional boundary and guide-wire installation remains a very good solution where dense trees, buildings, narrow areas or signal conditions make wireless less suitable.

  • Proven and dependable technology
  • Boundary wire installed around the working area
  • Guide wires positioned where required
  • Useful in difficult satellite environments
  • Professional cable-laying gives a neat finish
From first look to first cut

Our installation process

We’ve simplified the process into five stages so you know exactly what happens before, during and after installation.

Assess the lawn

We discuss the garden and, where appropriate, visit the property to look at size, layout, slopes, obstacles, access and coverage.

Design the system

We decide on the right mower, charging position, mowing areas, transport routes and whether wired or wireless is the better approach.

Written quotation

You receive a clear recommendation and quotation so you know what machine and installation are being proposed before anything is booked.

Install & map

We install the charging station and set up the working areas, boundaries, stay-outs and transport paths required for your garden.

Test & hand over

We test the system, connect you to the app, explain how to use it and make sure you’re comfortable with the mower before we leave.

Complex installations

One mower. Multiple lawns. One planned system.

This is the type of installation where planning makes the difference. Separate lawns can often be linked using suitable transport paths, while flower beds, ponds, trees and other features can be kept outside the mowing areas.

What we can include in a full installation

The exact work varies by mower and garden, but a professional setup can cover the complete journey from delivery to showing you how to use the system.

Charging station

Positioning and installation of the charging station in a suitable location for the mower and the garden.

Lawn mapping

Mapping of mowing areas and virtual boundaries on suitable wireless installations.

Stay-out zones

Areas such as beds, ponds, play equipment or other features can be excluded where the system supports it.

Transport paths

Suitable routes can be created to help the mower move between separate lawns and working areas.

Boundary & guide wire

For wired systems, we can professionally install the boundary and guide-wire layout required by the garden.

App setup

We connect the machine, help set up the app and configure the essential settings for your installation.

Testing

We check docking, lawn access and key routes before completing the installation.

Customer handover

We show you how the mower works, how to make everyday changes and where to come for support afterwards.

robot mower installations
Experience matters

We’ve been doing this for more than a decade.

Robot mower installations aren’t theoretical for us. We’ve spent years working with real gardens: small lawns, large estates, multiple mowing areas, difficult slopes, trees, buildings, paths and changing generations of robotic mower technology.

And because we also service and repair robotic mowers, we see what makes an installation work well in the long term — not just on the day it is fitted.

Do you need an installer?

Some gardens are DIY-friendly. Others are worth getting right professionally.

DIY may suit you if…

You have a simple, straightforward lawn.

  • One main mowing area
  • Few obstacles or awkward passages
  • Easy charging-station position
  • You’re comfortable setting up and testing the mower yourself
Professional installation may suit you if…

The garden has more going on.

  • Several lawns or disconnected areas
  • Paths, steps or narrow connections
  • Significant tree or building cover
  • Slopes, obstacles or complicated boundaries
  • You want the complete system configured and handed over

Installation questions

Frequently asked questions

A few of the things worth knowing before you choose an installation.

Do wireless robot mowers still need professional setup?
Not every wireless mower needs a professional installer, particularly on a simple lawn. On a complex garden, however, charging position, coverage, mapping, transport paths and boundary design can all affect how well the system works.
Can you install both Husqvarna and Kress robotic mowers?
Yes. We work with both Husqvarna and Kress robotic mower systems and can advise which approach is best suited to the lawn rather than recommending one technology for every property.
Can one robot mower cut multiple lawns?
Often, yes. Depending on the mower and garden, multiple mowing areas can be linked using suitable transport paths or other installation methods. We assess the route between lawns as part of planning the system.
What happens during a lawn assessment?
We look at the lawn size and layout, obstacles, slopes, passages, charging-station options and the factors that may affect wireless coverage. We can then recommend suitable machines and explain the installation approach.
What if wireless isn’t suitable for my garden?
That doesn’t automatically mean a robotic mower won’t work. A professionally installed boundary-wire system may be a better option where trees, buildings or other conditions make satellite-based positioning difficult.
Will you show me how to use the mower after installation?
Yes. A full handover includes app setup and an explanation of the everyday controls and settings so you know how to use the mower once the installation is complete.
