All-terrain 4WD robotic mowing for lawns up to 10,000 m²

Designed for demanding landscapes, the Kress EyePilot® 4×4 RTKⁿ KR285E combines RTK satellite positioning, vision-based awareness and a true four-wheel-drive system to deliver precise, stable navigation across complex terrain — without boundary wires, on-site antennas or additional positioning hardware.

Its four-motor drivetrain uses real-time torque control to maintain traction and direction on slopes of up to 84% (approximately 40°). Independent axles and an articulated body help keep all four wheels firmly planted as the terrain changes, while the self-levelling cutting system maintains a consistent cutting plane across slopes, contours and uneven ground.

Unlike skid-steer machines, the KR285E uses true front-wheel steering, allowing smooth, controlled turns with reduced turf damage. With up to 6 cm of vertical obstacle clearance, it can also negotiate raised edges, transitions and challenging routes between lawn areas with confidence.

RTK correction is delivered over the air, while Kress' redundant positioning architecture combines satellite positioning with onboard sensing and vision to maintain accurate navigation when satellite conditions become more difficult.

With Wi-Fi and integrated 4G connectivity, the mower stays connected without relying solely on your home network. An embedded SIM and active data service are included from the start, with no additional connectivity subscription fees.

The KR285E has been engineered for lawns where a conventional robotic mower may struggle. Four independently driven wheels, articulated geometry and intelligent torque management allow it to maintain traction across steep, uneven and changing terrain.

Steep Ground, Steady Progress

The four-motor drivetrain continuously adjusts torque to maintain stability and direction on slopes of up to 84% (approximately 40°).

Uneven Made Even

An articulated chassis allows the mower to adapt as the terrain changes beneath it, while the self-levelling blade system helps maintain a consistent cutting height across slopes and contours.

Grounded Throughout

Independent axles help keep all four wheels in contact with the ground, improving traction and stability over uneven surfaces.

6 cm Vertical Obstacle Clearance

Raised lawn edges and transitions between areas can often cause problems for robotic mowers. The KR285E can negotiate vertical transitions of up to 6 cm, making it particularly suitable for more complex gardens.

True Front-Wheel Steering

Rather than turning by dragging or skidding its driven wheels across the lawn, the KR285E uses front-wheel steering for smoother directional changes and reduced turf wear.

RTK Precision Enhanced by Vision

The EyePilot system combines RTK satellite positioning with vision-based awareness to understand both where the mower is and what surrounds it.

RTK correction is delivered over the air, so there is no need to install a separate RTK antenna or positioning pole in the garden.

Its redundant positioning architecture uses additional onboard sensing when satellite reception becomes more challenging, helping the mower maintain accurate positioning around trees, buildings and more complex parts of the lawn.
